Daimler Mercedes-Benz GenH2 hydrogen fuel cell truck
Daimler Trucks is conducting multiple tests for the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 heavy-duty commercial fuel cell truck.
The company intends to start production of these hydrogen fuel cell trucks in 2027. The Mercedes-Benz GenH2 fuel cell truck recently received approval from German authorities for use on public roads.
The heavy truck has so far covered thousands of miles on test routes and now intends to cover this distance on the B462 road near the city of Rastatt, Germany.
The carbon-free trucks from Daimler also successfully completed a test distance of up to 1,560 meters in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps.
Daimler also announced that by 2039 it intends to offer only new trucks in North America, Japan and Europe that have zero-emission and carbon-neutral performance.
