According to the DAF company, the construction of the new assembly plant for these trucks was completed in just 18 months. The DAF company expects to increase the production of these trucks to several thousand vehicles in the next few years. According to the growing demand for fully electric 4×2 and 6×2 trucks and 4×2 tractors, this is likely to be quite feasible.
The company is expanding its capabilities in the production and assembly of new electric trucks and the electric DAF XD truck offers a range of over 500 kilometers without pollution, which indicates an important step for the company and its role in the transportation industry and reducing pollution.
Technical specifications of the electric DAF XD truck It has two PACCAR EX motors with six different performance levels and battery packages depending on the customer’s needs, which can be installed on different chassis designs.
The all-electric PACCAR motor delivers power between 210 and 480 horsepower. The DAF company also offers a range of battery packages using a modular approach. The smallest battery package consists of two “strings” that provide a capacity of 210 kilowatt hours and a range of up to 200 kilometers. The largest package has 5 “strings” with a capacity of 525 kilowatt hours and can reach a range of over 500 kilometers.
This series of electric trucks are equipped with fast charging and even the largest battery package can be charged from 0% to 80% in 45 minutes.
